Sri Lanka beat West Indies by 7 wickets to win ODI series
Sri Lanka won the third and final ODI against the West Indies by seven wickets to clinch the series 2-1.
Charith Asalanka scored a brilliant 114 to help Sri Lanka chase down the target of 276 with ease.
Sri Lanka won the toss and elected to field first. The West Indies got off to a solid start thanks to a 62-run opening partnership between Evin Lewis and Shai Hope. However, Sri Lanka fought back with regular wickets, and the West Indies were eventually bowled out for 275 in 49.2 overs.
In reply, Sri Lanka lost Kusal Mendis early, but Asalanka steadied the innings with a solid half-century. He was ably supported by Pathum Nissanka (51) and Dhananjaya de Silva (45), and Sri Lanka cruised to victory with more than six overs to spare.
Asalanka was named the player of the match for his match-winning century. He was also the leading run-scorer in the series, with 229 runs in three matches.
